In May 2023, a series of floods hit the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, causing many victims. The first floods occurred between 2 and 3 May, followed by more serious floods on 16 and 17 May. Heavy rainfalls in the Italian region caused the overflow of twenty-three rivers. In some areas, almost half the annual average of rain fell in only 36 hours. Moreover, many landslides occurred in the area.
This report provides aerial shots taken from a helicopter of the flooding and landslides affested areas (Bologna, Conselice, Lavezzola, Ravenna, Forlì, Faenza, Modigliana, Casola Valsenio, Castel Bolognese, Bagnacavallo, Lugo).
