Visit of Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, to Germany
On 14 October 2024, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, went to Berlin, in Germany, where she participated at the Berlin Process Leaders Summit and met with Olaf Scholz, German Federal Chancellor. The Berlin Process, established in 2014, is a platform aimed at enhancing cooperation between the Western Balkans Six, the Berlin Process host countries, and the EU. It serves as an inclusive format for all six Western Balkan nations, bringing together their representatives with those of the host countries at annual summits and ministerial meetings. The process also involves EU institutions, international financial institutions, civil society, youth, and businesses from the region, providing political support and visibility for regional cooperation initiatives and EU connectivity projects.
