On 28 May 2024, Maroš Šefčovič, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of the European Green Deal, Interinstitutional Relations and Foresight, participated in the conference to mark 30 years of the European Economic Area (EEA) entitled 'A unique partnership fit for the future' hosted in Brussels, Belgium by the Belgian Presidency of the Council.On this occasion, Maroš Šefčovič participated in a panel discussion on the EEA and the future of the Internal Market with Thórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir, Icelandic Minister for Foreign Affairs, Espen Barth Eide, Norwegian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dominique Hasler, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Education and Sport of Liechtenstein, and Hadja Lahbib, Belgian Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade, and the Federal Cultural Institutions, which was preceded by a speech by Enrico Letta, President of Notre Europe - Jacques Delors Institute.
