COHESION - Hungary: Q&A
So there have been media reports first in Hungary, but then also here in international media that the Hungarian government can expect to receive
around €163.5 million of cohesion funds within the next 60 days,
which is reportedly due to a technicality of the Strategic Technologies for Europe platform.
Can you confirm that Hungary will in fact be able to access these EU funds despite the
current suspension of cohesion funds over issues like rule of law and academic academic freedom, for example?
And what does this mean for the rest of the,
I think for 545 million in cohesion funds? Thank you. Yes, good afternoon.
I'm stepping in for a match today on this topic so.
Indeed I can confirm that €545 million has been reprogrammed under the Hungarian cohesion envelope.
However, reprogramming doesn't mean that this will be dispersed.
There are some underlying conditions that have to be fulfilled. Which are well known.
However, what comes into play is the pre-financing, so there is a one-off prefinancing of 30% of the amount concerned,
so that will have to be made available for the Hungarian side. Thank you. Balazs.
Any other questions to Balazs who also is, who today is also stepping in for Maciej? I have a question online. I'm not sure it's for Balazs. Let's see, Luis Tar. Louise, can you hear us? No sign. Yes, can you hear me? Yes, yes, there you go.
Yeah, it's regarding La Flotilla, so I think it's not, for Bala.
We still have a question for Balazs there.
