Visit of Kadri Simson, European Commissioner, to Chile
On 1 and 2 July 2024, Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy, went to Santiago de Chile, where she visited the "Smart Energy Monitoring Initiative" for public buildings, funded by the Euroclima Program. During her trip, she met with representatives from the renewable energy sector, Diego Pardow, Chilean Minister for Energy, and José Miguel Benavente, Executive Vice-President of CORFO. She participated in a panel discussion on the Just Energy Transition focusing on Green Hydrogen, organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), alongside Minister Diego Pardow Lorenzo. Additionally, she met with José Manuel Salázar-Xirinachs, Executive Secretary of ECLAC, and delivered the opening remarks at the Global Gateway Investment Agenda event, "Team Europe Initiative for the Development of Renewable Hydrogen in Chile (TEI RH2)."
