On 16 July 2019, Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the EC, gave a closing statement on the implementation of the EU Global strategy at the plenary session of the EP held in Strasbourg, France.

On this occasion, Federica Mogherini addressed the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), the work on migration, the enlargement policy, climate change, naval assets and effective fight against the trafficking networks across the Mediterranean, as well as the work on peace and security.
