On 6 and 7 February 2020, Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy, visited Denmark, as part of the European Commission’s effort to spread the word on the European Green Deal and engage with citizens and stakeholders. It was her first official Member State visit.
She met with Dan Jørgensen, Danish Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities, as well as Members of the Danish Parliament’s European Affairs Committee and the Committee for Climate and Energy. In addition, she took part in a Citizens’ Dialogue with students at Aalborg University in Esbjerg.
During her stay, she visited the Horns Rev windmill park and witnessed the transformation of Esbjerg Harbour, and then visited the Avedøre Power Station, where a meeting with the Climate Change Partnership took place.
