Statement by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, on protecting Europeans against online fraud during the coronavirus crisis (English version)

On 24 March 2020, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, recorded a video warning in English for European citizens to beware of fraud and cyber crime on the internet during the coronavirus crisis.
The Commission is coordinating the joint European response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is taking firm action to strengthen the public health sectors and mitigate the socio-economic effects of the pandemic in the EU. It is mobilising all available means to help Member States coordinate their national responses and is providing objective information on the spread of the virus and effective efforts to contain it.
