Press briefing by Ylva Johansson, European Commissioner, following the High-Level Forum on providing protection to Afghans at risk
On 7 October 2021, Ylva Johansson, European Commissioner for Home Affairs, participated in the EU High-level Forum on providing protection to Afghans at risk, in Brussels, Belgium.The forum is a follow-up to discussions in G7 and in the extraordinary Justice and Home Affairs Council on Afghanistan. The aim is to ensure that action of the EU and of the Member States to protect Afghans is supportive of global coordination and cooperation efforts. This event brought together Ministers for Foreign Affairs and Interior Ministers of EU Member States as well as from the Schengen Area country, US, UK and Canada, and representatives European Parliament, Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and António Vitorino, Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).This video shows the press conference held by Ylva Johansson on this occasion.
