On 15 November 2021, Josep Borrell Fontelles, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of a stronger Europe in the World, chaired the 3826th meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council held in Brussels, Belgium.
On this occasion, ministers discussed current affairs and took stock of the recent developments in the Western Balkans, followed by a debrief on the situation in the Sahel. They also exchanged views on the first draft of the EU Strategic Compass.
Following the meeting, Josep Borrell Fontelles held a press conference on the outcome of the meeting where he addressed the EU Belarus sanctions, illegal migration, human rights abuses, cybersecurity, the situation in Mali, Cyprus, Burkina Faso, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and North Macedonia.
