Faustin’s story: a boy in child labour in mining
There are 160 million children in child labour in the world and each child has their story, this is Faustin’s story.
This is one of a three part short animated video series depicting the lived experiences of children in child labour performing hazardous tasks to produce raw materials exported worldwide. The series highlights how the European Union helps remove children from child labour in specific value chain sectors.
The animation tells the story of Faustin, a twelve year old boy working in a cobalt mine. The European Union supports children like Faustin return to education and training and is promoting responsible mining through projects like the European Partnership for Responsible Minerals (EPRM).
