On 9 September 2022, Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy, attended the Extraordinary Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council (Energy) in Brussels, Belgium. During the meeting chaired by Jozef Síkela, Czech Minister for Industry and Trade, the Ministers adopted “A-items”, including a proposal for a decision to suspend the visa facilitation agreement with Russia. They also exchanged views on possible emergency measures to mitigate high energy prices and presented the state of play of preparedness of their country for next winter.
