On 3 May 2023, Josep Borrell Fontelles, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of a stronger Europe in the World, Věra Jourová, Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of Values and Transparency, Margaritis Schinas, Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of promoting our European Way of Life, and Ylva Johansson, European Commissioner for Home Affairs, gave a joint press conference at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium, on stronger rules to fight corruption in the EU and worldwide, to present the anti-corruption proposals which represent a milestone in the fight against corruption at national and EU level.

The European Commission took here decisive action to fight corruption in the EU and worldwide, delivering on the commitment made by President von der Leyen in her 2022 State of the Union address.
