Heat pumps – the heating solution for a clean energy transition

Show transcript

Concerned about rising energy bills and your carbon footprint?

Then it's time to switch to an efficient, sustainable

and increasingly affordable heating solution:

heat pumps!

Unlike systems that generate heat by burning fossil fuels,

heat pumps use the heat that's naturally available in the environment.

They simply take the heat from outdoors and pump it indoors to heat up your space,

or suck up warm air indoors and eject it outside to cool the space down.

Available in various shapes and sizes, they can be used in different kinds of spaces.

There are two main types of heat pumps:

air-to-air heat pumps, or reversible air conditioners,

and hydronic heat pumps,

which deliver heat to radiators and/or underfloor heating.

Ready for a heat-pump?

If your space is well insulated you can choose a solution

that works with your existing system:

With radiators, heat pumps warm up your space without the radiator water needing to be very hot,

even on cold days.

Your radiators just have to be the right size and you're good to go!

If you're not able to change your insulation or your radiators,

a high temperature heat pump, or a hybrid heat pump can do the job.

Hydronic heat pumps can directly replace boilers.

Underfloor heating? Heat pumps work too.

And the best part?

Not only are heat pumps safer and more effective,

with recent technological developments,

they are now smaller and quieter than ever before!

What about the price?

With decreasing prices,

heat pumps are expected to become the cheapest way of heating by 2030.

In many EU countries,

government subsidies already make them a more affordable option!

Switch to a heat pump and join the movement towards a cleaner, greener future.
