On 31 January 2024, Josep Borrell Fontelles, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of a stronger Europe in the World, attended the informal meeting of Ministers for Defense in Brussels, Belgium.

During the meeting, the Minister of Defense focused on political cooperation but also on security and defense issues, while providing an opportunity for informal exchanges between EU ministers.
