Participation of Josep Borrell Fontelles, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, on the 9th Union of the Mediterranean Regional Forum: opening remarks
On 28 October 2024, Josep Borrell Fontelles, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of a stronger Europe in the World, together with Ayman Al-Safadi, Jordanian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, chaired the 9th Union of the Mediterranean Regional Forum hosted by José Manuel Albares Bueno, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, in Barcelona, Spain.
During the forum, the representatives from the 43 Member States of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) discussed the critical situation in the Middle East and the organisation’s reform.
