On 4 November 2024, Josep Borrell Fontelles, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of a stronger Europe in the World, went in Seoul, South Korea where he participated in the EU-RoK Strategic Dialogue.During this 1st edition of the event, Tae-yul Cho, South Korean Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Josep Borrell Fontelles announced the EU-RoK Security and Defence Partnership, which constitutes a joint non-binding political framework for reinforced cooperation (NBI).
