Pure Algae: a seaweed solution to reduce emissions (Short version)
Pure Algae, a small innovative Danish business, has developed a sustainable land-based algae and seaweed cultivation system. This system can be installed alongside land-based aquaculture activities, using the nutrients produced to grow algae.
Thanks to the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF), and the Fisheries Local Action Group in the area, Pure Algae was able to start its business, build its sustainable seaweed solution and create jobs.

When you produce seaweed on land
you create a process where you bring in salt water,
you add light and nutrients,
which creates a process where seaweed can grow.
With our system, you can install this
as a plug’n play extension to land-based fish farming
and enable the discharge of nutrient enriched water
to be converted into seaweed as high value biomass.
We are actually regenerating nature's resources.
