On 16 December 2024, Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and President of the Council, gave a press conference on the main results of the Foreign Affairs Council held in Brussels, Belgium.

On this occasion, the Foreign Affairs Council discussed the Russian aggression against Ukraine and adopted the 15th package of individual and economic restrictive measures in response to the Russian aggression against Ukraine.The Foreign Affairs Council also exchanged views on recent developments in Georgia and their impact on the Georgian people and Georgia’s European path. It then discussed the latest developments in Syria and the situation in Belarus ahead of the so-called presidential election scheduled for 26 January 2025.
