On 28 January 2025, Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, and Marta Kos, European Commissioner for Enlargement, attended the press point held following the informal breakfast meeting for General Affairs Council Ministers on Ukraine’s EU integration in Brussels, Belgium. 

The press point focused on reaffirming the EU’s strong political commitment to advancing Ukraine’s accession process. Speakers highlighted the progress made by Ukraine in implementing reforms despite the ongoing war, while stressing that enlargement remains a merit-based and demanding process. The discussion also underlined the geopolitical importance of Ukraine’s integration into the EU, presenting it as both a strategic priority and a key contribution to Europe’s long-term security and stability.
