On 17 March 2023, Věra Jourová, Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of Values and Transparency, and Thierry Breton, European Commissioner for Internal Market, received the representatives of the European Citizens’ Initiative "Save cruelty-free cosmetics". On this occasion, the organisers symbolically hand over  to the European Commission the over million signatures they collected.
